GloSize Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

GloSize (“we”, “us”) is a Shopify app that lets merchants create size charts and display them on their storefront. This policy explains what data the app accesses and stores when you install and use it.

2. What data we access

To function, GloSize requests the following access to your Shopify store:

• Store information — your store domain and basic shop details, used to identify your account.
• Products and collections — read access, so you can choose which products or collections a size chart applies to; and write access, so the finished chart can be saved onto the product as an app-owned metafield. That saved copy is what your theme reads to display the size chart to shoppers.
• Files — read and write access, used only to upload the measurement guide images that you choose, into your own store's Shopify Files.
• Themes — read-only access, so the app can detect whether the GloSize block is active in your live theme and guide you through setup. GloSize never edits your theme files.

GloSize does not request or access your customers' personal information (names, email addresses, shipping addresses, payment details, or order contents), and does not access your orders.

3. What data we store

Your data lives in two places. We keep only what is needed to provide the service.

a) In the GloSize database

• Your size charts — table names, column labels and unit types, the values you type, footer notes, the link (URL) to any measurement image, its display width, and whether the chart is draft or active.
• Placements — which products or collections each chart applies to, stored as Shopify identifiers only (for example gid://shopify/Product/123). No product or customer content is copied.
• Your app settings — admin display language, default units, default footer note, and footer text size.
• Your store connection — your store domain and the access token Shopify issues so the app can call the Shopify API on your behalf. GloSize uses store-level (offline) tokens only, so no staff names or staff email addresses are stored.

b) Inside your own Shopify store (not on our servers)

• A copy of each finished chart, saved on the product as an app-owned metafield. Your theme reads this copy directly, so displaying a size chart to a shopper never calls our servers.
• The measurement images you upload, stored in your store's Shopify Files. We keep only the link to the image, never the image file itself.

We do not store any customer personal data. The size chart shown to shoppers on your storefront is static content — it does not collect or transmit any information about the shopper.

4. How we use data

Data is used solely to operate the app: to save and display your size charts, apply your settings, and keep the app connected to your store. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Hosting and sub-processors

GloSize uses the following service providers:

• Railway — application hosting and the managed PostgreSQL database that holds the data listed in section 3(a). Our instance runs in Railway's United States (San Francisco) region.
• Shopify — holds the data listed in section 3(b): the product metafield copy of your charts and the images in your store's Files. This data stays inside your own Shopify store.

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access tokens are stored in our database and are never exposed publicly. GloSize does not use advertising networks, and does not load third-party analytics or tracking scripts on your storefront.

6. Data requests and deletion

GloSize responds to Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks:

• customers/data_request — because we store no customer personal data, such a request returns no customer information.
• customers/redact — we hold no customer data to redact.
• shop/redact — when your store's data is scheduled for redaction (Shopify sends this about 48 hours after you uninstall), we permanently delete, in a single database transaction: all of your size charts, all placements, all of your app settings, and your session record including the access token. Nothing about your store is left in our database.

When you uninstall the app, your session and access token are deleted immediately, so the app can no longer reach your store.

Data held inside your own store. The chart copies saved on your products and the images in your Shopify Files belong to your store and remain under your control in Shopify. GloSize does not modify or delete your theme files at any point.

You can export all of your size charts at any time from Settings → Export (CSV or JSON).

7. Data retention

We keep your size charts and settings for as long as the app is installed. After uninstall and the standard redaction window, your store's data is deleted.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
